Northern Arizona’s high country was blanketed with snow Saturday after a fast moving storm dumped nearly half a foot in Flagstaff overnight. The storm that triggered dust storms south of Phoenix as it moved in Friday afternoon brought heavy rain to the rest of the state. Phoenix got almost half an inch at Sky Harbor airport and more in northern suburbs, while cities from Yuma to Tucson to Globe all saw significant rain. The storm had mostly moved east into New Mexico by midday, leaving clear blue skies dotted with some clouds. But it was much colder than a day before, and National Weather Service forecasters expect temperatures to remain below average for days. A slightly weaker storm could bring more rain and snow on Sunday night and into Monday.
