    Bird flu has been detected in Chaughada VDC in Nuwakot district. According to chairman of the Bird Flu Control District Technical Committee and Chief District Officer, Jeevan Prasad Oli, the sample taken from a dead chicken at local Dhruba Rai’s house in Chaughala VDC Ward No. 1 confirmed the presence of the H5N1 virus that causes bird flu. A team of doctors from the capital has reached Chaughada to kill the fowls and other birds infected by bird flu. Similarly, a team including the veterinary doctors and other technicians reached the villages for preventing the spread of the disease in the area. The sample of the dead chicken was sent to Central Livestock Disease Research Centre, Tripureshwor, after the local fowls began to die one after another. The examination on the sample was found infected by H5N1.
